Carson’s 2 Year Pictures

For those of you who don’t already know, Carson is my little nephew. He’s that adorable little person you see all over my website and blog : )  Sometimes I honestly think, if I love this little boy this much, it scares me to think how much I’ll love my own babies.  He is so happy and funny and smart… and he is such a little character. By the end of the night as we were walking back to the cars, he randomly sat down on a curb by the sidewalk and sighed as if to say, “Whew, I am tired!”  When we finally managed to get him to start walking again, he proceeded to sit on at least two more curbs on our way to the car… sighing each time : ) Taking pictures of Carson, and probably all 2 year olds in general, is one of the easiest and hardest things for me to do.  It’s easy because he has no preconceived ideas about what a picture is supposed to look like… he’s just being exactly who he is.  And he’s only 2… so all of these things that we never think twice about are new and intriguing to him… so he’s so expressive and there is so much genuine emotion to photograph. I love that! That being said… he’s 2 : ) And a boy at that…All of those moments of expression and genuine emotion come and go really quickly… there’s a lot of running  involved. I have about 5 seconds to capture the things that I see. It’s really challenging… but in a really good way.  I’m so glad I get to take pictures of this precious boy.

Ian’s Pictures

I have to say I was really excited to take Ian’s pictures. He showed up smiling, so polite and friendly, shook my hand, and he was completely ready to go to that artistic place with me which I loved. The fact that he brought this wonderful, old saxophone and case and that he was wearing a tie and tennis shoes made it that much better. I had so much fun… one of my favorite parts was running to the railroad tracks to try to catch the train while it was still going. What can I say? This kid was dedicated. I always have fun when I’m taking pictures, but the fact that Ian was having so much fun made me really happy. I hope you like your pictures …  It seems like every time I post something I’m putting more pictures up than I did the last time… haha… sometimes it’s hard to choose.

: )

The Lawsons

Meet Jason, Heather, and Amanda… aren’t they adorable? I mean, I knew it when I was taking the pictures, but I really confirmed the fact when I came home and looked through them. Amanda’s face is just so great.  And I loved her style.  It was also a beautiful summer evening …and I had a lot of fun.  Hope you enjoy your pictures Lawsons : )

Nick and Tina

Nick and Tina were such a beautiful couple. Their ceremony was lovely. Nick’s parents’ property where we took their pictures was amazing. The reception was great with really yummy food(fried chicken and noodles). But I have to say that the most interesting part of their wedding was their getaway vehicle after the ceremony… a hayride! I literally had never seen anything like it. Word on the street is that it is a Russia, Ohio tradition… : )

Michael

Michael is a really good friend of my brother Jordan. I figured I had to have him there during the session because I knew he would unknowingly help me get some great expressions. Good friends just do that.  The result ended up being that we laughed a lot, which is great because I love to laugh and laughing, in my opinion, makes for the best pictures.  Okay, maybe not the moments when we’re laughing so hard that one eye is closed and our tongue is somehow sticking out. But there are other moments in the midst of laughter that are so real, raw, and genuine. And I think those are the best kind of moments to capture on film. Michael had a great smile when he laughed.

The post-processing on this last one was definitely an accident, but I ended up really liking the way it looked…
