Jenny and Travis

Christmas is coming… I’m not ready. I don’t think that there’s been a year that I have been ready for Christmas to come since I was like 10. Back in the day when my Christmas list consisted solely of toys and books and it took the sum total of 15 minutes to find the perfect gift for my parents at the store (i.e. a plaid flannel scarf that I knew my Dad would love and I now wear instead). I miss the simplicity of it all : ) Maybe this will be the first year that I venture into online shopping. As much as I love Christmas, I do not handle the swarms of people and inevitable brawls that ensue in the mall parking lot very well. I think the comfort of my home with a hot cup of peppermint tea and my computer sounds way better this year… I’ll let you know how it goes : )

I did Jenny and Travis’ engagement session at the end of October on a very windy, cold day with periodic spitting rain. It was one of those days that reaffirms the fact I live in Ohio… and that there is in fact no rhyme or reason to the way each season unfolds here. We went to the Yellow Springs/Clifton area and that morning someone told me that they were organizing the biggest thriller dance in Ohio or something like along those lines that day in Yellow Springs. Apparently they were going to do the dress rehearsal in the streets. As much I really wanted to see that, I was glad to find out that it was on another day or in a different place… I don’t even remember I was just happy to be able to drive on the streets!

This was my first experience with having a motorcycle as a part of the session and it was a lot of fun! And Jenny and Travis played the parts very convincingly : ) I loved the lights hanging outside at this restaurant called Peaches and it worked out so it was the last place we went… so the lights were lit and it was just dark enough to be the perfect setting. These two are a really really sweet couple and I’m so excited for their summer wedding! I hope you enjoy your pictures and slideshow!

Deana and Manny

I want to start off this post by thanking everyone for their patience in waiting for their pictures. I know it can be frustrating, but I promise you all I’m working like crazy to get it all done : ) I really love editing so I’m having fun while doing it!

We so loved doing Deana and Manny’s engagement session. Deana is just this really spunky, sweet girl that’s impossible not to get along with and Manny is really laid-back and talks to my husband about sports, which makes him happy. When we first met with these two, Manny informed us that he thought disposable cameras on the tables at the reception would be adequate for photography… haha. Fortunately for me, Deana disagreed.  We started off their session at this park in Sharonville walking through the woods to find a tree where Manny had carved their initials a while back. The walk took a little longer than anticipated and the tree was just a tad bit off the path… haha… but it was totally worth it because the carving was so cute! Jason and I can’t wait to do their wedding because we really like them so much : ) Hope you guys enjoy your pictures… sorry for the wait! (The song was specially requested by Deana : )

Nate’s Pictures

I have been really busy (aka blessed) with a lot of sessions in the past couple of months. On one hand, it’s wonderful because I love what I’m doing so much and am having a lot of fun. On the other hand, I’ve got a lot of people anxious to see their pictures and and a lot of editing yet to do. I know people are excited about seeing them and I want you to see them… so please just bear with me! I’m working every day (right now on vacation included) so we will get there : )

Nate’s session was a lot of fun… I loved the vibe he had going with his dog and the guitar and jacket. Because of his style, I decided to be a little edgier than I normally am with my editing because I thought he would like it and it was a lot of fun to branch out. I think I found some things that I’ll try to incorporate a little more into my editing on a regular basis… although they may be toned down a little. I’m always really hesitant to do anything too extreme! I’ve never been one to change my ways without a fight… even if it’s for the better. Anyways, here are some of Nate’s pictures… I hope you like them : )
